Introduction to Astronomy II:
The Cosmos
A comprehensive, descriptive overview of various aspects of the universe outside the solar system covering how our ideas have changed from ancient times to today. The course material will stress conceptual understanding without too much mathematical derivation. However, nature behaves according to mathematical and physical concepts. Therefore, SIMPLE MATH WILL BE USED. Students can develop an appreciation for this by doing simple calculations, similar to those clearly outlined in the "More Precisely" sections of the text.
This course is not recommended for physical science majors.
